friday find ... a spoonful of lovliness

~a spoonful of loveliness~

I love Friday Finds with Kim Klassen ... "it is a place to gather and share ... a place to cherish life's simple pleasures" ... doesn't that sound like such an inviting place?

My find this week is actually a refind ... a rediscovery ... a "oh, that is where you have been hiding" kinda find.

My microfleur ... a wonderful flower press.

It has been years since i bought it ... i loved it back then ... but then it got tucked away and never found its way out until this week.  As i was looking for props around my house that i could use for Kim's Be Still class ... there it was waaaay back in the corner of my craft closet.

As luck would have it ...my pansies i bought in April are now all starting to fade  ...  i have been busy replacing them with my summertime favorites.  But i just hated to hank them all out and throw them away ... they are THE perfect flower to dry.

So i got busy and in just an hour i had dozens of these beauties all preserved ... just waiting to be photographed.

So as i finished up pressing my flowers, i put my microfeur away ... this time front and center in my craft closet ... making sure it is not years till i use it again!

  8. There is something so elegant about flowers with full petals and a rounded shape, plus I love the bee guide stripes radiating out from the center on the pansies. It looks wonderful in the elegant spoon, I will have to consider trying to dry some flowers. My aunt used to make lovely cards with dried flowers beneath plastic.

  9. They look lovely pressed. I think Mallory has a flower press hiding downstairs in the storage room, maybe I should be looking for that :)

  10. I love what you did with a pressed flower! Pressed doesn't necessarily mean flat/2d. Hmmm...I have a microfleur too.
